George was found in stomach of a whale over 30 years ago, and was preserved and has been on display in the museum since 1980. Other highlights at the Wallaroo Heritage & Nautical Museum include:

  • A 30 foot (9.1 metres) racing boat
  • Cutty Sark model
  • 'Shipwrecks of Yorke Peninsula' display
  • Tipara Reef lighthouse
  • water pump used for copper smelting
